My research interest focuses on the development of community-based art education that utilizes art-based action research, both of which have been developed in the Department of Art Education at the University of Lapland. As a researcher and art educator, I am interested in Indigenous peoples and cultures in the Arctic, specifically in Sápmi. Arctic environmental issues are particularly important to me, as well as the conservation of nature. Recently, I have been inspired by ecocultural philosophy, which has provided me with new perspectives on human-nature relations.
Key words: Community-based art education, art-based action research, Indigenous cultures, decoloniality, ecocultural qualities
